Iliaz Lomidze, a 42-year-old man, was shot and killed on August 9, 2009, in Oakland, California. The incident took place in the early morning hours on the 2800 block of High Street. According to reports, Lomidze was standing on the sidewalk when he was shot with a shotgun. After being shot, he was transported to a hospital by friends, but he succumbed to his injuries later that afternoon.
