Marcus Vancleaf, age 32, was fatally shot on June 21, 2014, outside an after-hours club located on the east side of Columbus, Ohio. The location, an illegal club operating in a boarded-up house on East Fulton Avenue, had a notorious reputation within the community for criminal activities including drug trade, fights, shootings, and illegal liquor sales. The club had been the site of multiple homicides over the years, contributing to its image as a dangerous neighborhood establishment.
