At approximately 10:44 p.m., Columbus Police officers responded to reports of the altercation, which soon escalated to gunfire. Upon arriving, they found Tyquan along with two other individuals, all of whom had sustained gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention and transport to the hospital, Tyquan Lackey was pronounced dead at 11:26 p.m.
The shooting occurred during a "Sweet 16" birthday party, with multiple teenagers present at the scene. Unfortunately, many fled before the authorities arrived, making the investigation challenging.
