On March 22, 2017, Donte Moorer, aged 39, was found dead inside a home on East 19th Avenue in the South Linden neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. At approximately 2:55 p.m., a U.S. Postal carrier noticed signs of criminal activity on the front porch of the residence and immediately contacted the Columbus Division of Police.
