A man is found fatally shot
On July 18, 2019, Joel "Joey" Wells, a 31-year-old resident of Akron, Ohio, was found fatally shot outside of a residence located at 470 Weeks Street. Wells was discovered at approximately 8:01 a.m., and it appeared that he had been shot while in a driveway. Authorities classified the death as a homicide, and Wells was pronounced dead at the scene. Despite an ongoing investigation, no suspects have been publicly identified, and the case remains unsolved.
