On December 19, 1997, Sarah McAbee, a 76-year-old woman from Gaston County, North Carolina, was found dead after being reported missing for nearly 10 months. Sarah, known to distrust banks, would often hide large sums of money in her home and clothing. After she disappeared, her family found over $25,000 hidden in various locations around her house.
