On January 28, 2007, 25-year-old Jose Lorenzo Arevalo Moreno was shot and killed at the El Vaquero nightclub, located at 4116 N. Tryon Street in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, around 3:00 a.m., when gunfire erupted at the club, resulting in Moreno’s death. Two other individuals also sustained gunshot wounds but survived. Originally from El Salvador, Moreno was known by the names Lorenzo Arevalo and Hector. Despite investigations, no suspects were immediately identified, and the case remains unsolved. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department continues to offer a reward for information leading to an arrest.
