On February 18, 2007, 17-year-old Travis Moore was shot and killed while attending a Sweet 16 birthday party at an apartment on Fernwood Drive in Charlotte, North Carolina. The party, which started as a celebration for a young girl, quickly spiraled out of control after the invitation spread on social media, attracting numerous uninvited guests, some of whom were from rival high schools.
