On March 14, 2008, 56-year-old Boyd Phillip McKinney was found fatally shot in his apartment located at 4332 Edith Lane, Greensboro, North Carolina. McKinney's body was discovered by authorities after responding to reports of a shooting. His death was ruled a homicide, but despite investigations, his case remains unsolved.
