On January 20, 2024, an 19-year-old male of Hispanic ethnicity—Maurizio Gabriel Justiniano Dadin—died from a gunshot wound during a duck hunting outing in the vicinity of Torrington, Wyoming. The accident occurred along the North Platte River at the Rawhide Wildlife Management Area. Emergency responders pronounced the 18-year-old male dead at the scene after attempts at resuscitation failed. The coroner ruled the death accidental, with no initial criminal suspicion reported.
