In the early morning hours of August 21, 2012, the life of Venesee Lawrence Johnson, a 25-year-old African-American man, was tragically cut short on a street in south Minneapolis. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner later confirmed that Johnson died from multiple gunshot wounds in what was ruled a homicide.
