In the early morning hours on Detroit's east side, the life of 37-year-old Brandon Johnson was tragically cut short. He was fatally shot while sitting in an SUV with a female companion, who was unharmed, outside the Martin Luther King Apartments on Lafayette and Chene. The incident, which police described as an attempted carjacking, sent shockwaves through his family and community.
