On November 30, 2011, a tragic incident unfolded at a residence on Schoenherr near Eight Mile Road on Detroit's northeast side. Twenty-year-old Kalvin Turner was one of three men who were shot inside what police described as a suspected drug house. Turner, along with twenty-eight-year-old Keith High, lost their lives in the shooting, while a twenty-five-year-old victim was left critically injured.
