Tina Smith, a 44-year-old woman from Detroit, was tragically killed on January 20, 2012, near Joseph Campau and Illinois Street. Her case added to the distressing list of unsolved homicides in Detroit during that year. Tina was among numerous victims as the city faced a high rate of violent crime in 2012, which saw the number of homicides rise to over 400, representing an increase from the previous year.
