On April 11, 2013, Rafael Mancilla Robles, 34, was killed in San Diego, California. The homicide involved a connection to the ongoing drug cartel activity in the region, as Robles' death was tied to violence orchestrated by cartel members operating across the U.S.-Mexico border.
