On April 26, 2013, 19-year-old Ceejay Reed was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting in Oakland, California. Reed and two friends had just parked their car and were walking on 53rd Street when gunfire erupted from a passing vehicle. Reed was fatally wounded, while a 19-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were also injured but survived. The victims were taken to Children's Hospital, where Reed was pronounced dead shortly after. As of that time, no suspects had been arrested.
