In the summer of 2012, a wave of violence gripped the city of Detroit, and among its many victims was a young mother named Shavon Davis. On August 15, the 24-year-old African-American woman's life was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire. The events leading to her death began earlier that day with a dispute during a game of craps near an abandoned house. The argument escalated, and later that evening, two men reportedly returned to the area with guns.
