Eric and his beloved dog Gypsy were found murdered behind the old Empire School in Empire, Alabama, a small town in Walker County On March 21, 2015, 911 received a call from a man who had been turkey hunting behind the old Empire school. The caller stated he and his brother were on their way out of the woods when they saw Eric's burned truck in a mud hole behind the school and discovered Eric and Gypsy's remains were still inside.
