In what has been described as a tragic family dispute, 29-year-old Christopher Johnson of Detroit, Michigan, was fatally shot on March 8, 2016. The incident occurred on the west side of Detroit, reportedly following an argument with a member of his family.
When police responded to a call about a person with a weapon, they found Johnson in the basement of the residence with a gunshot wound to his chest. Medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
Investigators allege that the fatal shot was fired through a closed door in the home.
Following the incident, Johnson's brother was identified as the suspect and was subsequently arrested. He faced multiple charges, including second-degree murder and other firearm-related offenses.
