David Gilford, a 36-year-old from Modesto, was fatally shot on December 29, 2013, in San Francisco's Japantown. The shooting occurred around 1:45 a.m. outside a nightclub near the Sundance Kabuki Cinemas on Post Street. Gilford was among a crowd leaving the venue when he was shot while standing on the sidewalk. Despite efforts by first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
