On April 8, 2014, Herbert Shephard, a 51-year-old man from Los Angeles, died from injuries sustained in a shooting that occurred three days earlier in Long Beach, California. The incident took place on April 5, 2014, in the 2300 block of Eucalyptus Avenue. Shephard and another man were both shot around 9:07 PM. While Shephard was critically injured and later succumbed to his wounds at the hospital, the other victim survived with non-life-threatening injuries.
