In the early hours of a summer morning in Boston, the life of 18-year-old Hispanic male Kelvin Lara was tragically cut short. On Saturday, July 12, 2008, at approximately 2:19 a.m., police responded to a call for a person shot in the area of 25 Whittier Street in the Roxbury neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers found Lara suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was rushed to Boston Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
