Himank Karki, an 18-year-old Nepali student, was tragically killed on August 27, 2007, in Baltimore, Maryland. The incident occurred around 2 AM while Himank was working the overnight shift at a gas station near the Mondawmin Mall area. Himank, originally from Biratnagar, Nepal, had recently arrived in the United States on a student visa and was preparing to attend Baltimore City Community College.
