In the winter of 2023, a grim discovery was made on the porch of a vacant house in West Baltimore that brought to light the tragic death of a 32-year-old man. Dustin Davis, a Black male who was a father and a resident of the city, was found deceased on January 5, 2023. His body had been placed inside a storage container and left on the porch of the unoccupied home in the 3500 block of Holmes Avenue.
The investigation into his death began after officers responded to reports of a strong, foul odor emanating from the container. Inside, they found the remains of a man who was later identified as Davis. Initially, police sought the public's help in identifying the victim by releasing sketches of his distinctive tattoos. The medical examiner would later determine that Dustin Davis's death was a homicide caused by stabbing.
According to his social media presence, Davis was a father and had been seen wearing a t-shirt for Safe Streets, a local community violence intervention program. Despite the nature of his death, authorities stated that he had not been reported as a missing person prior to the discovery of his body.
