On October 23, 2014, 28-year-old Tanecia Proctor was shot and killed in the Fruitvale District of Oakland, California. The shooting occurred in the 1500 block of 29th Avenue. Tanecia had previously been injured in a shooting in 2013, where she was struck by a stray bullet during a Fourth of July celebration while watching fireworks in East Oakland. Despite surviving that incident, her life was tragically cut short a year later.
