In the spring of 2008, the life of 20-year-old Marcellus Benjamin Hall was tragically cut short on the streets of Baltimore, Maryland. A Black male known affectionately to his friends and family as 'Scuddu' and 'Cello,' Hall was remembered for his lively personality. He had been educated within the Baltimore City Catholic school system.
On the evening of May 15, 2008, at approximately 9:40 p.m., Marcellus was found in the 1600 block of N. Mount St. having been shot. He was rushed to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, but his injuries proved to be fatal. His death added to the growing number of homicides in a city grappling with a high rate of violent crime.
Despite the passage of time, the circumstances surrounding Marcellus's murder remain shrouded in mystery. The Baltimore Police Department's investigation into his death has yet to yield any suspects or lead to any arrests. The case is one of many unsolved homicides in the city, leaving a family without answers and a community searching for justice.
