Mauro Solis, aged 33, was killed on February 8, 2015, in East Oakland, California. The homicide occurred on the 300 block of East 12th Street, in a neighborhood that has been no stranger to incidents of violence. Solis, who was a father of two, was shot during an altercation, marking one of several violent crimes in Oakland during that year.
