Big Bahadur Gurung, a 20-year-old Bhutanese refugee, was fatally shot on August 23, 2011, in Northeast Baltimore during what appeared to be a robbery. Gurung had recently immigrated to the United States from Nepal, seeking a safe refuge after experiencing years of persecution in his home country of Bhutan.
