On a warm spring evening in Baltimore, 23-year-old Brandon Sims was enjoying a meal of crabs with friends in the courtyard of the McCulloh Homes on April 13, 2012. The social gathering turned tragic when shots were fired, fatally wounding the young Black man. Emergency services responded to the scene at 400 Watty Court, and Sims was rushed to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
