In the brisk air of a Thanksgiving Day in 2012, the life of 22-year-old Antoine Ellis, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Baltimore, Maryland. On November 22nd, Ellis was found gunned down by a bench at a baseball field located in the 2000 block of North Forest Park Avenue. His death was one of several that week, unsettling a community plagued by violence believed to be stemming from a fierce drug turf war between the Bloods and the Black Guerrilla Family street gangs.
