Major Anthony Surrell

On June 25, 2015, 24-year-old Anthony "Major" Surrell was shot and killed in East Oakland. The shooting occurred around 9:25 p.m. on the 3500 block of 68th Avenue, near Surrell's home. He was standing on the street when an unknown assailant opened fire. Surrell was rushed to Highland Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries approximately 30 minutes later.
