On a spring evening in Baltimore, tragedy struck, forever altering the lives of one family. On May 20, 2015, Darrell Alston was shot in the head in the 2400 block of E. Monument Street. He was one of five people shot in the incident.

For nearly two years, the case remained under investigation by determined detectives. Their persistent work ultimately led to a breakthrough. In May 2017, authorities announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting.
