In the summer of 2015, the life of Jerome James Grant, a 24-year-old African-American man, was tragically cut short in a burst of violence that echoed the ongoing struggles of a city grappling with a high rate of homicides. On the evening of June 12th, on the 1100 block of North Franklintown Road in Baltimore, Maryland, Grant was with another man when gunfire erupted. Both men were struck by the bullets.
