On July 17, 2015, 26-year-old Adrian Kinard was shot and killed while working as a security guard at the Central Gardens Apartments in Capitol Heights, Maryland. The incident occurred in the early morning hours, around 1 a.m., when Adrian and another security guard were sitting in their cars completing paperwork. It was reported that they were ambushed in a drive-by shooting, which resulted in Adrian's death while his colleague survived the attack.
