In the early morning hours of April 1, 2016, Rondell Demetrius Street Jr., a 27-year-old Black male, was the victim of a fatal shooting in Baltimore, Maryland. The incident occurred at approximately 3:46 a.m. in the rear yard of the Ace Lounge, located in the 1000 block of Hillen Street in East Baltimore.
According to reports, an unknown man approached Street in an attempt to rob him. During the ensuing confrontation, the assailant shot Street before fleeing the scene. Emergency services transported Street to a nearby hospital, where he fought for his life for several days. He ultimately succumbed to his injuries on April 6, 2016.
The Baltimore Police Department launched a homicide investigation into Street's death. Despite appeals to the public for any information that could lead to the gunman, no significant leads were immediately generated.
