In the spring of 2015, a quiet evening in an eastern New Orleans apartment complex was shattered by violence, leaving two people dead and a community searching for answers. On the night of Thursday, April 23rd, 25-year-old Louis Brooks and his 26-year-old girlfriend, Diamonique Lewis, were inside their apartment in the 13600 block of Granville Street. What exactly transpired remains unclear, but the outcome was tragically fatal.
