On a tragic autumn day in Louisville, Kentucky, the life of 26-year-old D'juan Smith was cut short. On October 20, 2014, in a common area of the Beecher Terrace housing complex near West Muhammad Ali Boulevard, Smith was fatally wounded in a shooting that also left another man injured. The incident, which took place in the 1100 block of Fisk Court, prompted an investigation by the Louisville Metro Police Department.
