Kelly Freeman, aged 32, was fatally shot on May 20, 2017, while he was sleeping on the steps of a building in San Francisco's Marina District. The incident occurred sometime between 6:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., and Freeman was discovered unresponsive by a resident of the building who initially believed he was simply sleeping on the steps.
