I wonder if there's a way for stronger partnerships between law enforcement and local youth programs to help prevent these tragedies. It feels like increasing police presence isn't a complete solution; we need more efforts at the grassroots level to engage with at-risk youth and provide them with alternatives to violence. Has anyone come across any initiatives in similar cities that have made a noticeable difference? It's just so crucial that we find ways to keep our young people safe and away from situations where they might be either perpetrators or victims of violence. Jack—and all those like him—deserve better.
