I've been following the case of the Bennett family, and one thing that's really stuck with me is the incredible impact on Katelynn's classmates. I read that counselors were on hand at Austin Elementary School, but it's so difficult to imagine how young students can process something so devastating. Losing a friend is hard enough, but in such a traumatic way, it's unimaginable. I really hope the school continues to provide support for as long as it’s needed. This makes me wonder about broader mental health resources in schools—is there enough focus on helping kids understand and talk about these difficult topics? My heart goes out to all those young kids trying to come to terms with their loss.

I'm still processing how distressing this whole situation is. It's really difficult to wrap my mind around the fact that something so tragic happened to such a young and innocent soul like Katelynn. I've been thinking a lot about the kind of support systems that were—or weren't—in place for Amanda during this difficult time. It's crucial to discuss mental health resources, especially in smaller communities like Austin, where access might be limited. Were there opportunities for Amanda to reach out for help? Could there have been warning signs that others missed? It's unsettling to contemplate how different things might have been with a bit more awareness or intervention. My heart truly goes out to Katelynn's surviving friends and the entire community, who must be struggling to come to terms with such a profound loss.
