I came across De’Ayris Perkins’ case recently, and it's just been weighing heavily on my mind. Has anyone else been thinking about how this tragedy shines a light on the broader issue of gun violence in our community? It's so upsetting to see such a promising life cut short. De’Ayris had his whole future ahead of him, and from what I've read, he seemed like a truly amazing person.
I’m curious if there’s been any recent developments or efforts in Indianapolis to address this ongoing violence. Are there community programs or initiatives that have been started in his memory to try and make a difference? I can't help but think about the pain his family and friends must feel, and I really hope they find some peace and justice soon. Everyone deserves to feel safe in their own community.
