I can’t stop thinking about the immense void Oswin’s death has left in everyone’s lives. I didn’t know him personally, but reading about him, it’s clear he was a remarkable young man, full of life and promise. I’ve noticed a lot of discussion around the need for better preventative measures in Indy, but I wanted to acknowledge the emotional toll this senseless violence is having on families and friends alike. Losing someone so young and full of potential is devastating, and it breaks my heart to see another parent have to experience this. I sincerely hope that the community’s efforts, alongside the IMPD, can help bring some semblance of peace to Oswin’s family and ensure this cycle of violence doesn’t claim another promising life.
