I've been following the Barcomb case for a while, and something that always intrigued me is the timing of her disappearance. September 10, 1966, wasn't just any day; it was during a time when this rural community would have been gearing up for the autumn season. Could this mean there were more people passing through the area—or, conversely, fewer people around to notice anything amiss because they were busy? I wonder if the change in seasonal activities had any impact on her disappearance or the investigation itself. I’ve read old reports that talk about people being busy with harvest events around that time, which might explain why there were so few witnesses. Anyone else think this could have been a factor?
