Hey everyone, I've been following the case of Velacita Monte Jones, and something that's been on my mind is how close this tragedy hits to home for many of us. I grew up not too far from Hopewell and remember how tight-knit communities in that area can be. Velacita, or "Cita" as many knew her, clearly had an impact on a lot of people, and it’s devastating to hear how domestic violence can overshadow even the brightest souls. I want to shed some light on the impact this event had on the employees at Hardee's. Imagine losing a coworker and friend in such a violent way, just outside the workplace where you spend so much of your day. It’s terrifying and deeply upsetting. I truly hope the management is providing support for the staff to cope with this loss. It’s crucial for workplaces to step up in moments like this, offering counseling or resources for those who are struggling to come to terms with what happened. Does anyone have any updates on the community’s response or any initiatives they've put in place since then? I think it’s important we wrap our arms around every aspect of this story to understand and support one another better. Sending love to Velacita’s friends, family, and coworkers.
