I've been following Joe Ray Rumfelt’s case, and I'm struck by the community's memories of him. It's clear from the discussions and posts I've read that he was a beloved figure around Selma, Virginia. His visits to the Clifton Forge Antique Mall seem to have left a lasting impression on many; he was not just a customer but someone who was genuinely interested in the stories behind each item and in getting to know the people around him. This makes the betrayal he faced from Gillispie and McLear all the more chilling. It's hard to comprehend how individuals he let into his life could turn on him so violently. My heart goes out to Rumfelt’s friends and family, and I'm glad justice was served. I hope they find some peace knowing that those responsible have been held accountable for their actions.
