I've been doing some reading on maritime safety practices from the 80s, and I can't help but wonder if the Normar II was equipped with the right safety gear. Back then, were there any specific regulations in place for smaller fishing vessels like this one? It's frustrating to think that something as crucial as a life raft or a beacon might have made a difference. It's so curious that they never recovered any wreckage or bodies. Could poor weather conditions have played a role in the sinking, or perhaps faulty equipment? It's such a mystery, and my heart goes out to all the families still searching for answers. It really makes me appreciate how far safety protocols have come since then, but it also leaves so many questions about what truly happened out there.
