Hey everyone, I’ve been digging into the Mary Monroe case and something really stood out to me. I read that Mary had a history of wandering, which made me wonder if enough resources were put in place to support her needs before she vanished. In 1986, I doubt there were as many community programs and support networks as there are today for elderly individuals with similar issues. I’m curious how that might have affected the initial search efforts and the overall investigation. Does anyone know if there were any local outreach programs or neighbor watch groups back then that might have been involved or helped in some capacity? It makes me sad to think that she might have been overlooked because of the time period's lack of resources. If anyone has more info on the community dynamics in Queens during that era, I'd love to hear it.
