Hi everyone, I wanted to touch on something that's been on my mind about Cordero Washington's case and similar incidents from that time period. It truly saddens me to think about how these young lives were cut short due to senseless violence. One aspect that keeps coming up for me is the lack of witness cooperation, which seems to have been a huge hurdle for law enforcement back then. I completely understand why folks might be hesitant to come forward, given the fear of retaliation in those neighborhoods and a deep-seated mistrust of the police. It must have been incredibly challenging for residents to feel like they were stuck between a rock and a hard place, wanting justice but fearing the consequences. You have to wonder how many cases could have been resolved with just a little more community trust and support. Is there something more that could have been done to empower these communities to work together with law enforcement? I hope that over the years things have improved, even if it's just a little. My thoughts are with Cordero’s family and friends. Losing someone in such a horrific way is unimaginable, and I sincerely hope they find peace and justice one day.
