I've been following the tragic case of Jeanett, Candice, and Andrew, and one aspect that's been weighing on my mind is how this has affected the community at Grace Lutheran Church. Christopher Gattis was a youth pastor there, and it's hard to imagine the youth who looked up to him trying to process all of this. I've seen churches go through crises, but something of this magnitude must be incredibly challenging to navigate. The church has been a cornerstone for many, providing support and a sense of family. With this tragedy, I can only hope that the church community is coming together to support one another, especially the youth who are undoubtedly confused and hurt by these events. It speaks volumes that the church released a statement asking for prayers and support, emphasizing their commitment to healing and moving forward despite this terrible event. My heart goes out to the parishioners who are facing this unimaginable situation, particularly those who viewed Chris as a mentor or friend. Working through the mixture of emotions must be difficult, but I hope they find the strength to cope together.
