Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking a lot about the role of workplace culture and how it might have played into the tragedy that unfolded on May 31, 2019, in Virginia Beach. It’s so difficult to understand how someone like DeWayne Craddock, a man who seemed to show no prior warning signs, could commit such an unthinkable act. ? I read that Missy Langer, among others, was well-loved by her colleagues. It makes me wonder about the dynamics and atmosphere in the office. Was it a supportive environment? Did people feel comfortable voicing concerns? Sometimes, in workplaces where there’s high stress, problems can stay hidden beneath the surface. I’m certainly not suggesting that this would explain everything, but understanding these details could help us think about prevention in the future. If anyone has thoughts or has come across any information about the office environment, I’d love to hear it. My heart goes out to Missy's family and all affected.
